Silly Saturday ...

... Squirrel Appreciation Day!

And, yes ... there is such a thing!  I usually like to do something special so I put out this little sign board ... which I had originally written the words on with chalk.  Since the writing was a little messy I put it out again ... this time blank with the intention of adding the words later in Photoshop. Which is what you see here.

For our walk today we headed over to Hugh Moore Park as it's been a while since we walked here.  We walked down the canal path to an old lock tender's house (Lock #8) and then back ... probably about a mile and a half total ... if not more.  On the way back we went down to the dam and Richard was the first to notice the funny scene in the lower right picture.  All these balls (and other things) were stuck at the bottom of the falls ... just going round and round!  Poor things ... caught there for ages it seems!

Also on the way back through the park we passed the sign in the lower left.  It was multi-sided with the words "May Peace Prevail On Earth" in many different languages.  I thought it was interesting that Ukraine's translation was next to the English one.  I'm quite sure all Ukrainians hope this could be the truth.
