Recce

Went out on Sunday afternoon to do a recce for a Ramblers walk I'm due to lead next week. All pretty straightforward - it's a local walk I've led frequently over the last few years - well, until the last half-mile or so.

There's a wee detour off the main path that goes down towards the River Carron and follows alongside that for a bit. Well, it was pretty muddy and squelchy, then I turned a corner and was met by the icy stretch in my photo. Nah, I thought, and retraced my steps to rejoin the main path and back to the car park.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why walk leaders do recces before going out with a group.
