"We won't catch one now!"

But they did! Right as we were leaving.

Of course, they were there for the social, not really the fishing.  We had a really good natter with the three of them - about the old mining coastline, the molten slag heap that now forms the cliff, the crab deaths along the coastline, childhood memories, and yes, a bit about fishing.  

We'd already had a lovely stroll along the quiet beach but this connection with some locals really made the outing.
