A Last Chance?!

An orthodontic appointment for Amy today. Her teeth are ahead of her years... she only has 3 baby teeth left and an x-ray showed 3 wisdom teeth have already formed. Very unusual in a 9 year old apparently. All out of our control and something the dentists want to monitor in the coming years.

Something that is within our control though, and something that has caused her lower jaw to be slightly out of alignment, is the fact that when Amy is very tired, she still sucks her thumb. I have been telling her for years and years that she must stop this, but have had little success. Today however, when the orthodontist told her she must stop, she sat there and told her she was going to do it. I think the knowledge that this lady is very likely to put a brace in her mouth if she doesn't, sealed the deal!!

I left there happy... the costly brace has been delayed (or even avoided?!)
Amy left very happy... I really think she thought that she would be leaving with a mouth of metal!

A second or probably last chance... I hope she takes advantage of it!
