Duck!

Our afternoon stroll (see also MaggieD's blip) took us along the Forth & Clyde at the Falkirk Wheel.
We were a bit disappointed to start with by the lack of wildlife but as we wandered along, we began to spot stuff. Several mallard, including a displaying couple who were quite entertaining and a swan on its nest almost hidden in a reed bank. Then there were the swallows swooping and darting everywhere catching mayflies and, of course, Maggie's heron.
