the persistent gardener
I said I wouldn't admit defeat. Not even when the dog buries his bones in the carrot rows and the cat decides to go completely mental and knock all the baby plants over, breaking the stems. He did make me laugh when he crashed headfirst into the cherry tree....the only thing that really annoys me is the short growing season in Swissland, especially when my friends post pictures of their gardens in the UK and I wish mine was so abundant already. We had our first radishes and cress in the salad today, so the tide seems to be turning and when you are all complaining about the rain, we will be enjoying the sun :-P
Gardening is like film - never try to do it with children or animals. Luckily, my children have lost interest in helping me. But they will be happy to see that I have weeded and swept the patio and put a sun-lounger out for them. Despite living in the age of the smartphone they can still go outside because the wifi reaches to the patio.....
