Birthday cupcakes...
Got good news this morning that Alan had slept really well and was quite settled this morning.
When we got to the hospital he was awake and looked a bit brighter. He wanted me to chat about plans for when he gets home. Auntie Agnes is to visit and they will watch Grease together, then go for a swim. Afterwards Auntie Agnes will have a cuppa while Alan has his tummy milk, then they'll watch Grease again. I even got a few smiles during the conversation.
On the whole I felt Alan was much brighter today. All his stats were good too. A doctor came and took blood from him. That will tell is if the level of infection has reduced, increased or stayed the same since his antibiotics finished. I definitely don't think he will be home tomorrow but on the whole I feel he had a much better day today. He's certainly giving us a rollercoaster ride!
Alan's support worker Vickie was on overnight with Alan last night and she brought in some birthday cupcakes that she'd made for me. Oh they are delicious!!! The frosting is fluffy and the cake is the lightest chocolate cake. A real treat.
We left Alan settled and asleep and came home a bit earlier than we have been. This meant we could have proper home cooked food at a reasonable time.
Penny (who's in the hospital with Alan overnight tonight) has just messaged to say Alan is happy, settled and watching tv with her. His stats are still good. That makes me very happy :-))
