Duncan Ban MacIntyre

He was a famous Scottish poet. Unlike Burns he did not enjoy the privilege of an education, his work composed in illiteracy and later transcribed.

I did not know of the existence of this impressive monument to him until today. We drove by on the way to a site.

Mrs SJR and the dogs joined me on this site tender visit down in Argyll in what was a sparkling winter day. As far as the job went it was same old, same old, where I don't think the person assembling the brief had ever stepped on the site. This is hopeless in a competitive tender situation if the other bidders don't do a site visit too.
