Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Still cold!

Thank you for all the lovely comments about my forthcoming trip. It's extraordinary how timid I've felt about getting organised considering I've been going for over 25 years now, apart from over lockdown. I got back on 6th March 2020, by the skin of my teeth. I've had lovely welcoming messages from the school and from my friends, it's still going to be hard to actually go I think, although I'll be fine once I'm there. I don't like the travelling part I must confess but I've managed to get 14hour travel times both ways which, apart from direct flights, is as good as it gets. Only 1.5 hours transit time in Qatar which is tight but should be enough as both flights are Qatar. The prices have almost doubled since 2020 though. I'm going for 4 weeks as usual and leaving in 3 weeks, so lots to do.
Today I was up early and shopping for a Cursillo Epiphany Party which I had to help get organised. It was good to see folks again, we had a couple of quizzes, some carols, lots of chat and lots of food!
Didn't take many pictures today, so this one is of the ice on the pond which is still there although the weather is, allegedly warming up. I can't say I've noticed, although the car windscreen didn't need scraping today which is a step in the right direction.
