Singing at Binham Priory

In fact the morning was spent in the warm community centre at Binham, opposite the ruins with about 40 or so other singers. I arrived just before 10.30 for a full day of singing. With the very talented Teresa and Natasha as our teachers, we learnt a variety of new songs. As the sun streamed in through the large floor to ceiling windows, we enjoyed a spiritual and joyous sing together, remembering those singing friends no longer with us. It felt like I was among friends even though most I have never met before.

After lunch, we went over to the Priory, and in the church, which is the nave of the priory church, which is the only part standing, among the 11th century priory ruins, we sang the songs we had learnt. It was cold, so we had all put on a few more layers, plus hats and gloves. The sound is beautiful and the feeling of singing there was too. A great way to spent the day.

I got home at 5. We had a chinese takeaway, and now totally stuffed, we are watching Mission Impossible 2.
