President Biden came to Capitola yesterday to offer sympathy and government help for rebuilding. Governor Newsom and Representative Panetta were also there, not to mention a sizable crowd. 

Of course, the President was kept some distance from the crowds who came to see him, but he waved at all of us at one point, and it was very exciting. He's only the second president I've ever seen in person. (the first was Bill Clinton).

I was able to get a couple of slightly blurry cell phone photos (see extras). 

Afterwards, I did some beach combing and came home with some great driftwood for my next branch weaving projects.
