The Reader

Book Club tonight at my house. Phyllis kindly holds tonight's selection - The Reader, Bernhard Schlink.

I am sure most of you will have either read the book or seen the film with Kate Winslet...

For 15 year old Michael, a chance meeting with an older woman leads to far more than he ever imagined. Before long they embark on a passionate, clandestine love affair which leaves Michael both euphoric and confused. For Hanna is not all she seems.

I really enjoyed it and very well written, not sure it lived up to the hype or that I felt for the main the characters but it got a good overall score tonight and I would now like to watch the film.
