Orange Tip

I often wonder what the 'normal' users of the park think about me creeping through the meadows and looking strangely at dandelions, cuckoo flowers and the like. I know what I am after and this time of year it's the Orange Tip butterfly. They are great lovers of Cuckoo Flower and Garlic Mustard plants and are suitably camoflauged with folded wings and at a quick glance you can easily miss them.

This one is a male it was a bit torpid and stayed still long enough for a few shots. It slowly opened its wings got the benefit of a few warming rays of the sun and it was away. These are one of my fav inverts.

I need to clean my sensor. My macro lens has highlighted all the specks of dust on the delicate electronics.
