A Wild Swan

This is the portrait I drew on Saturday morning before going to the Kawasaki Museum. Dr. Jung Chang is the author of Wild Swans, the autobiographical account of her life in China during the Chinese Cultural Revolution, as well as a biography of her mother and grandmother. One of the most astonishing books I have ever read, a shocking testament to the evil which one man can inflict upon a nation and a terrifying reminder that any country carries the potential to descend into mass insanity.
