Preening

After photographic  club yesterday l went down to little Boxer's Lake to see if any herons were in the colony.  There were 3 but this large one, busy preening was the clearest photo.  It was miserably cold and most of the lake was frozen - see extra.  l was happy to hop back into my warm car and come on home.  

On another note l read that Jacinda Ardern has announced her resignation as PM of Aotearoa New Zealand, sad but understandable.  In my mind she has been an excellent advocate for her country and steered it through some tricky and sad occasions always with kindness and compassion..  She was the envy of many countries.
