A Scary Walk

Last week when I walked up this footpath (it is one I use regularly) a large section of the (laughable) “noise reduction” fencing was blowing around wildly in the wind.

At some time over the weekend it finally blew over - fortunately no one was hurt - and now the Highways Agency have put this orange barrier in place. I don’t particularly like walking this section of path because of the traffic thundering by on the motorway just a few feet the other side of the fence..the hard shoulder here is right up to the fence (apart from a bit of armco barrier). The photo shows just how close the traffic is - this is a lorry in lane 1, presumably doing (at least) the maximum legal speed of 60!

Although it was cold out this morning the sun was shining and the sky was clear…I have added an extra of some willow catkins shining like little lights in the blue sky.
