Winter Cleaning

When I cross the street to pick up the mail for out-of-town neighbors, I get a full view of the home place. From this distance, you can't see the imperfections, and why not some imperfections in a house that is 128 years old. Today was also the first day of a housecleaning service. What a treat! They did a very good job and will be back in two weeks. I don't know how long it'll take for our cheapness and guilt to slip in (can't even clean your own house?!), but I sure hope we keep the service. And we will, at least through the wood burning season, such a dusty mess we make, but, oh the coziness of a fire.
