Lawrence on the Lamppost

Lawrence (he said I could call him Larry) the osprey was waiting on top of the light, whistling at people as they went into the farm market. It is a market that sells fruits and vegetables, and has both a meat market and bakery. Larry was doing his whistle, but...believe it or not...he talked to me and my camera.

"Is there any way you could pick me up a slab of fish in there? I'm really tired and I just don't feel like going fishing."

"If I did, how would you get it? I'm not feeding you by hand."

"I know I'm up here high, but couldn't you lob it up?

"What if it missed, and landed on one of these cars?"

"The smell would eventually go away."

I was really torn. If I got Larry a hunk of fish, would he come back every day and "bother" other shoppers?

I decided against the purchase,
in spite of the osprey's sound.
And it didn't help a lot...
when cod was 7.99 a pound.

We drove 77 miles eastward today to see our friends Bobby (don't call me Bob) and Linda in Bartow, Florida. They have purchased a new home, and will not have to take their 5th wheel down anymore. As an added bonus, we got to have lunch at Sonny's BBQ.
