Spot the birdie!

Only photo taken today so this is what it has to be.
We waited until this afternoon before going out for a walk. In truth, after breakfast we went back to bed! It was so damn cold we decided to get back under the covers for a while longer. 
This afternoon, the first venue was the canal where we spotted a couple of goldfinches nibbling on seeds from the tall grasses along the towpath. When I tried to get a little closer, they just flitted a few yards further along before getting fed up with us and flying off across the canal. So that is why I couldn’t take a better shot. 
Memo to self, do better tomorrow!
