Here we go again.....

Winter has returned during the night, when I defrosted Mrs F's car at 6.30 this morning it was reading -8c on the dash ,and about an inch of snow to scrape off.
Once everything was fed,I expected all the water bowls would be frozen solid,but somehow the only one was in the shed I put yesterday's cows in. Luckily it only took 4 kettles of boiling water to get it going again.
Kev on mucking out while I spent a fair chunk of time down the pit in the grain shed as everything had jammed up. Had to get the slurry tanker to suck out the 6 inches of water in the bottom,then up a ladder to hang from the rafters unblocking the elevators which had choked with wet barley. The joys. Got there eventually though.
Another keen frost tonight,so no doubt lots of kettles needed tomorrow. Ho hum.
