Flood alert

We woke up this morning to the road leading past our house closed due to flooding further up the road and reports of other roads under water locally. Not that it stopped cars driving past the road closed sign only to find they had to turn round and come back, adding to the general chaos. In the end, my daughter and I took on a policing role advising drivers they wouldn't be able to get through. Most were accepting of our cheerfully delivered advice although there was the occasional abusive comment. Eventually the council staff finished pumping the water off the road and normal  traffic resumed.
