Flooded water
It's been a lovely bright but cool day today. I headed off to a morning sprint cycle class and then hurried back home for a quick shower before meeting up with a few friends from the bookclub. It was one of the members birthday and we planned a walk along the river otter into Otterton for a lunch at Otterton Mill. We were delighted that the weather was so bright and although we knew it would be muddy we hadn't anticipated that the flooding would be so extensive. Normally you can choose a route into Otterton either across White bridge and along a path at a higher level or a route directly along the rivers edge. Well we couldn't gain access to either of them due to the extent of flooding. This image shows where you would turn left and walk along a new pathway to eventually meet up with the river and the extra show the old road which is under water. A new higher road is under construction as part of the Lower Otter Restoration Project. We had a lot of rain last night. We walked back to where I had a car parked and I drove us into Otterton by road. A lovely lunch was enjoyed by all and great to meet up with them outside of our book club.
I thought the light and dark clouds in the sky fitted in with todays light and dark theme for Mono Monday
