Soggy Doggie…

…Wee Millie had a dip in the canal today!
Millie is Sabrina’s little dog who we are ‘looking after’.
We drove to Gargrave and parked up, let the dogs out of the car and Bella headed for the wooden foot bridge. Millie was right behind her and I expected her to follow Bella over the bridge but instead she went to the edge and carried on walking right into the canal - it was a long drop as you can see in the extra which I took on our way back. I was almost hysterical thinking she would drown but we ran across the bridge and down the slope and kept calling her to swim down the canal and over to us which she did thank heavens.
She was a bit shaken when Frank fished her out but soon recovered. 
She’s 14 so did quite well - better than I would have done. 
Once we knew she was OK we just laughed as it was actually quite funny! I phoned Sabrina to tell her what had happened and she was laughing too.
She said Millie has never swam in her life.
To see her just walk over the edge and plop at least 12 feet down into the water was surreal.
Anyway, we enjoyed the rest of the walk in the lovely sunshine though it was a quagmire on the tow path. 
This afternoon we watched Mary Poppins Returns - Frank was going to go for a pint while I watched it but ended up staying at home because we were enjoying it. ;-D
Book and bedtime now.
