The Sun Inn, Newbattle

The Strollers January walk took a circular route from Newbattle Abbey College.  Following the River South Eask we passed The Sun Inn, a 1697 coaching inn.  This was the first stop for stage coaches on the Edinburgh to London route.  The rain came on now and then and it was a bit muddy underfoot but all in all a good enjoyable walk and we were rewarded with a rainbow at the end.
