More from Birmingham Cathedral
A rather hasty post yesterday so I thought I would give the event more justice today.
Divine Beauty was the music and light show held in St Phillip’s Cathedral better known as Birmingham Cathedral. Its on for one more evening, tonight, if you live in or around Birmingham.
The performance was based on four stained-glass windows in the Cathedral. They were designed by Edward Burne-Jones between 1885 and 1891 and created by the firm of William Morris and Co.
Burne-Jones was baptised here when it was a parish church in 1834.
Divine Beauty is part of a wider project to repair and restore the windows.
The images were difficult to take. I could have improved things by better exposure control but I went with a wide aperture and a slow shutter speed. Not so good for projected moving images.
I have played around with three of the images to see the effect.
The third extra is a contrast - entrance to a shopping centre in Birmingham.
