Scarborough Lass
Carl and I went over to the UK and spent a couple of days in Scarborough.
We were guests at a civil partnership ceremony which was held today. We flew to Manchester at the crack of dawn yesterday, spent a couple of hours around Piccadilly Gardens and got the train to Scarborough (2 and a half hours). After lunch and a bit of a wander around the town we met up with the rest of the guests yesterday evening for a meal and ended the night back in the apartment of the partnerisators.
The ceremony was at 1:00 pm today, so we had time for another wander this morning, having some last-minute shopping to do. That's when we came across this sculpture in the centre of the main pedestrianised shopping street, which was just crying out to have the iPhone pointed at it.
After the (very impressive) ceremony we retired to a place on the seafront for the reception which went on until the bar staff finished serving. We found a late-night place close to our hotel and had a nightcap there, more than ready to call it a day with the return journey ahead f us tomorrow.
