The entrance to the Gardens at Stowe 2023 and 1806

A beautiful sunny day, cool and windy but no rain.

I visited Stowe gardens again to keep in touch with my volunteer colleagues and to have a good walk.

One of the projects underway is the renovation and restoration of the building at Bell Gate, the original entrance to the gardens and still the main entrance for visitors.

The 1806 drawing is the guide for the restorers (see extra).
