Shopping at Costco

We have had a little break in the rain today and decided to try to get a few things which  Blipper blethers calls huvtaes done. They fill veterinary prescriptions at Costco so we took along a prescription for heartworm and flea and tick chewies for Spike, hoping that it would be cheaper than it is if we get it from the vet. He has to have a blood check once a year to take the heartworm which makes me wonder.... I also wonder why there is a chewy for ticks for dogs but no such thing for humans.

I always think there are a few things that it is worth going to Costco for, but once I get there and I'm staring blankly at shelves piled high with impossible quantities of things we don't want, I become paralyzed. The one thing we went for was nowhere to be found but we walked miles around the store (6,125 steps to be exact) and there is something about the lighting in there that makes me feel like fleeing. We plodded up and down the aisles, randomly picking up items until the half hour the pharmacy said it would take was up. We got a year's supply, so we  won't have to go back soon, but it wasn't really any cheaper.

We came home with five tubes of toothpaste, a bottle of wine some frozen raviolis, underwear and socks for John, and a  giant jar of glucosamine.

More storms are supposed to start rolling in tomorrow, so it was a relief to get Spike out on his walk run to a very soggy meadow. He didn't mind, and as one woman we met on the trail said, "Doesn't it just make your heart sing when they run around with such abandon?" Yes it really does
