The Square Mile
0859 train to London left Cheltenham on time. More impressively it arrived at Paddington on time exactly 2 hours later.
I wanted to take The Elizabeth Line to Faringdon but its signallers were on strike so I took the Circle Line instead.
My work meeting was in The Guildhall. Not this medieval splendour but the modern northern wing. The meeting went well.
I had time to visit the Apple Store too before catching the bus back to Paddington.
Flooding down the line was creating havoc on the GWR. The 1630 was the last train out to Cheltenham until after the rush hour due to trapped trains the wrong side of the floods. Despite the acute overcrowding the train reached Cheltenham only 10 minutes behind schedule.
