12/365 Flood

Very blustery here at times although no rain since the small hours. I went off for a short walk early afternoon kitted out in windproof jacket, beanie hat, and gumboots, to see if the local river had burst it's banks yet.

It seems to have just started to do so in places but I did expect to see it far worse than it was. It usually floods in one particular area towards Talton Mill and covers the lane but not so far. Will probably do so overnight although there are still sheep in one of the fields alongside the river so maybe the farmer knows differently.

Nothing else of note happened, just a few bills paid and some stuff ordered but that's all. Really exciting lifestyle for me at the moment.

Jayne is off to choir practice tonight so it's jacket potatoes for tea with grated cheese and baked beans. We do know how to live here!
