Today's the day ................... for genes

While granddaughter Tessa (see extra) is very much her own person with her own individual character - the older she gets, I can't help thinking that there are a few characteristics that we do share.

I was definitely the same shape as her at age seven - long-legged and skinny - and there are some similarities in the way we looked.  We like lots of the same things and I recognise in her, enthusiasm that I had for certain things.  She's way more artistic and creative than I ever was but I'm sure we must share a few of the same genes.

It's altogether a fascinating subject - and one which continues to give joy as time goes on .....................
