Down t'Pub
We arranged to meet our friends Nicola and Stewart at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre this afternoon. Unfortunately none of us checked that the place would be open today......it wasn't! Along the road in the village of Hanbury is a pub, The Vernon Arms, originally an 18th century Inn, improved over the years though keeping some original features such as the fireplace in the private dining area. The name is taken from the previous owners of the National Trust property nearby, Hanbury Hall.
Anyway we reconvened in the bar where coffees all round were ordered, except for me, having spotted the Butty Bach on tap.
It was raining and it was nice to sit at a comfortable window table for a catchup chat.
On leaving I took a quick snap, not that the outside looks particularly old or interesting, but just because I didn't have anything else to blip!
