Grey Heron

When I got to the loch today I spotted a heron on top of the dovecote. It was the new male and he flew down to meet me. I hastily fed him as I knew the young female would be along and would chase him, which she did. I just love how she is top of the pecking order, so like the young one. She also gets the closest to me. After I had given them a good feed (more her than him). I made my way to see the regular male and the youngest one. They both know where I am headed so flew ahead and waited for me. The regular male and the youngest one were already there. I got them all fed when I was approached by a young woman who said she had never seen heron feeding together (I didn't mention how hard it is to get them fed together) another man walking his do reckoned they all know me now - he is probably right there.
I was just thinking how long it took the young one to get to the point that she would fly over to me and it is because of her that the others have become so trusting so quickly..
The shot is the young female again (I really shouldn't have favourites but she has so much character)! .
The crows are also amazing,  there must be around 6 that follow me round the park and down the road.
