Raindrops Keep Falling on our Heads!

Back blip

Almost non-stop rain all day today.  We both worked in the morning (Aptis marking for me) and then walked along the front of Copacabana towards the Lemme end (where your hotel was Arclight, if you're looking in).   We forgot to take our brolly with us and so sheltered in a beach bar when the drizzle became heavy.  We then decided to buy a new brolly from a street seller, who magically appear with just the right items at just the right moment!  We thought of buying rain ponchos, especially knowing that Mikedetrapia's one has lasted him decades, but the ones on offer seemed paper thin!  Very late lunch, actually closer to an early dinner in La Fiorentina Italian restaurant on the Lemme stretch, where we knew we'd get a table and be able to sit inside comfortably. 

The attack on the Brazilian Congress Building yesterday doesn't seem to have had further serious repercussions. but it's still not clear how the Bolsonaro supporters were allowed close enough to the building to be able to get in and do the damage they did.  If my understanding of an article in the newspaper is correct, there had been a request on Saturday for stronger protection of the building, but it had been ignored. 

My blip is on the way back to our own stretch of Copa.  Bb's holding the doggie bag of food from the restaurant behind his back.  We always give them to a houseless person and very sadly, there are many more this visit than we remember.
