Milefortlet 21

The rain hasn't stopped all day long...

This was taken just North of Maryport, looking towards Milefortlet 21 in the pouring rain!

If you have walked Hadrian's Wall from Wallsend to Bowness on Solway, you may have thought the Roman defenses stopped there...

But the defenses went down the West Coast for another 40 miles to Ravenglass. ( Milefortlets, but no wall ).

By the way, there is an excellent Roman Museum in Maryport...
