lovely lyme regis

Oh my god, what a bloody brilliant day we had.

Up for a big breakfast in the B&B - chatting away to a trucker who was staying there too! Massive man with a massive voice.

Visited River Cottage to see Tiff for the first time in real life! And what a pleasure it was. We were shown round, introduced to everyone, had coffee and sparkling water, tasted cheeses, and were extremely warmly welcomed.

Drove into Lyme Regis and parked up, walked into town (past the Banksy!) and went the beach immediately. It was so warm! Lay on the beach in the sun for almost an hour, wandered around the Cobb, devoured a couple of 99s and then went for a glass of wine. Wrote a couple of postcards and then we wanted to get back to the B&B to prepare ourselves for our evening meal :)

Walked up to the Canteen and given that the only thing we'd eaten since breakfast time was an ice cream, we were definitely ready for a feast!

First thing's first though, some wine. We weren't sure what to order and then the waiter came over with a bottle of elderflower sparkly as a gift from Tiff. So lovely and kind! We started with terrine served with spiced apple chutney, and tomato, basic and mozzarella salad. If only I could put all the pictures on here. Then veal with cous cous and flatbread, and asparagus risotto made with barley instead of rice. Delicious! We finished up with cheese and a chocolately ice cream dessert.

Coffees and a few purchases from the deli and we were ready to go. Another brilliant River Cottage experience.

Thanks Tiff!! xx
