Big Bear: Big Fail

The big dump of snow over the last week and the mild sunny weather today prompted a planned trip for a day’s skiing. Unfortunately this thought also occurred to most of the LA population. Traffic was insane as everyone and their grandmother tried to drive the Edge of the World highway to the ski hills: instead of two hours it took Isaiah and me over four hours to get to Big Bear. The queues for the buses from the car park to the hill were very long and the dearth of buses meant it was going to take an hour to an hour and a half of lining up before we could ski……. so we turned around and came home. The highlights were 1) proving we could put chains on the tyres 2) taking turns at choosing songs to drive to on the way back: despite the setback a remarkably fun day!!!
