A bulb from last year

I'm thrilled to see this bulb producing a flower for the second year. It spent the summer in the garden and produced this surprise, a first for me. We have four amaryllis bulbs in various stages of opening, we love them.

The tree is outside sprinkled with seeds for the birds, the ornaments packed away for next year and all the still fragrant needles swept up. It was a big job and I'm glad it's done. We have the living room back and can use the gas fireplace again without fears of drying out the fresh -cut Christmas tree. I'm tired, but happy that it's all tucked away.
