Between fen and mountains

So little snow

I don't think I have ever seen so little snow on Canigou in January. On the news yesterday, farmers were expressing their concern that the unusually mild winter has meant that the fruit trees are in bud and it will require a cold snap very soon to stop them flowering. A subsequent frost would be very damaging. Church and ringing resumed today.  I took the service but there were only nine of us. We ate with some Cointreau laced Christmas cake afterwards. I went for a walk and then listened to President Macron being interviewed by a group of autistic journalists who asked very personal and probing questions like no other journalists would do, questions like, "Do you think you and your teacher should have got married?"  Macron was impressive in his honesty and humanity. I wish our politicians were the same! I spent the rest of the afternoon searching for a dossier it had taken me days to prepare which I believe I passed on to someone else. She said not but extensive searches of the house proved fruitless and so I was forced to compile it again. Fortunately I was able to locate the relevant files and reproduce it but it took some time. No-one else is going to touch it now!
