Pheasant

The cock pheasant was strutting around just outside the window this morning - please excuse the unmaintained steps and messy pruning heap. A couple of days ago a family of four was right outside the window, a cock, a hen and two quite large juveniles. The males have such wonderfully coloured and marked plumage, but the rest of the family are attractive too. I was pleased to achieve a fairly well focused shot through the window, as I didn't go outside properly, for my brisk and damp half our walk round the village, until well after dark. It's not really cold, but I'm enjoying the cosiness of a wood fire this evening.
