Bad Moon Rising
How about some old CCR anyone?
Well, interesting to see what's blipping early in the morning on the other side of the world and to see the difference in seasons. So this moon is pulling up the sun somewhere else...
hmmm. I am some kind of funk... partly due some weak food poisoning from Yesterday and partly because I am reaching a point where I am thinking what am I doing spending so much time and placing so much importance on this stuff?
At the end of the day, what's the use of all these pictures if not for some personal mission to get it right and to "create" some art. Up until joining Blip and the purchase of the NEX7 last year, I was mostly just interested in capturing family events and the bigger events. Now... I am hassled to carry my camera everywhere and to always look for a good moment to take a picture. And for what? I guess for some personal vanity to have other people look at my pictures and to earn some stars or a couple comments. So far it has been fun.
Actually I have been thinking about upping my game by purchasing a used Leica M8 or go in a different direction and buy a new 5D which has been my dream camera since forever and when digital photography really took off. Anybody remember those discussions if they thought that digital quality would ever surpass analogue??? The 5D did that for me.
I've also been using the NIK collection for the past week to really try and push the limits of post processing to see how I can "improve" a straight shot out of the camera. Back to RAW and filling up the card in a couple days. oops. Then, denoise, coloring, color effects or silver effects or BOTH and maybe some denoise again. - at least 10 minutes per photo and I'm not getting much quicker at it. Do that for 3-6 pictures to ultimately decide which one is best - maybe not from my point of view, but what I think the photo viewing audience will like the best.
hmmmm. OK, I can see that the SW makes a big difference, but sometimes I just feel like it is TOO much. So, I think I want a camera that allows me to take great pictures without doing a bunch of post processing.... OK, wait... I already have a great amateur camera... doh.
Yes, I am in a funk! Time for a week long break? Time for a photography class? What??
A few nice pictures also on Flickr looking toward the Duomo and Torre Velasca.
