Downy Woodpeckers are year around residents and frequent visitors to our seed and suet feeders. The feathers on the back of their heads are unique to each bird, which is how they identify one another. Believe it or not, they know males have red patches on the back of their heads, and females do not, the same method we use to determine their gender. No peeking under the feathers required, LoL! • A couple of fluffy inches of snow required shoveling on hard surfaces only this morning, just how I like it. Easy Peasy • We stopped by the grocery store to pick up a couple of items needed for tomorrow’s VIP birthday. Hmm, who could it be, I wonder? • I hope you’re all enjoying a fabulous and peaceful Saturday!
