Woodberry Wetland in Hackney

Used to be a reservoir, but after a long campaign, was saved as a wildlife haven, for birds, plants and insects. It’s surrounded by tower blocks and dense housing, but has a lovely peaceful feeling.  There’s a nice little cafe too. Apparently there are kingfishers - but I’ve never seen one.  Certainly a lot of gulls, geese, cormorants, swans, ducks, coots and moorhens today. In the distance you can see in outline some of the tall buildings of the City of London.
My extra is a clematis in my friend’s garden, called jingle bells - because it flowers at Christmas maybe, also the shape. We had a fair bit of sunshine today and had a lovely walk to the wetlands and back.
