Greylag goose

I had an interesting chat with one of the park keepers on my travels today. I’d thought that the pair of swans that have been in the park for some years had died from bird flu last year, but actually the male was killed by people with dogs and catapults along part of the canal that they also lived on. Then the 5 cygnets that I keep checking on, who are now 4, were moved back to the park with their mother who checks on them periodically but is now looking for a new mate. One was killed by a dog in the park. So sad. They are such beautiful birds.
Over 50 waterfowl have been lost to bird flu but there still seem to be large numbers remaining.
