Is it a photo?

So technically, it is. But instead of being created by a camera, it was created by an artificial intelligence (AI) app called Dall-e. You type in a prompt (eg: monkey riding a bike; cat playing with a mouse) and the AI scours its database and combines images to render the concept you had entered. The simple concept of cat playing with mouse resulted in a about a dozen different images.

It’s not perfect (the mouse has some additional noise to it) but it’s impressive. I look forward to seeing what else it can do (and then selling my cameras…) ;)
