Chuva!

Rain, rain, rain! A non-stop downpour dominated today. We paid 15 months of condominium charges in advance in the centre, then went to the Museu de Amanhã to see the Sebastião Salgado photo exhibition on the Amazon, but the queue was too long. We will book a time slot for another day on line. Then, a walk through the centre of Rio passing Cafeteria Colombo (again, too busy to go in) before a beer at Café de Bom, opposite the now-closed iconic Bar Luiz. We were last in Café de Bom exactly three years ago when it was so hot that no beer had ever tasted better!

Lunch, after, was in Os Bar, another old favourite enjoying a filet mignon that literally melted in the mouth. Given the exchange rate, we can eat like kings for prices way below what we would pay per head in Europe and, still, always have a very weighty and healthy take away to donate to street people.

We discovered that we had left our Yahtzee kit in yesterday’s lunch place so we went back to Pontinho in Bairro Peixoto to recuperate it and, why not, have an other game and chopp in situ.

Now, watching TV from our bed before going out later for a walk, hopefully rain free, and supper.
