sunshine on a gray day

This morning it was bright and sunny with a beautiful Colorado blue sky. I spent extra time trying to capture the little red patch on the wing of a Cedar waxwing. Out of all the shots I took of an entire flock resting on a bare tree, only one showed a bit of red, and that was out of focus. So the challenge continues.
This afternoon the clouds moved in, and there was not much animal activity that I could see. So this bright lawn ornament brought a smile to my face, and a blip to my journal!
