Epiphany

The last part of Christmas.  In France, and maybe other countries, we share a “Galette des Rois”.  There is a ‘fève’ in it. The person who gets this is the king or Queen and chooses their Queen or King.  I shall always remember once when we were 15.  I cut the Galette into 16 portions and gave all out bar one.  It was the one with the fève!  The youngest child sits under the table and tells the person giving out the portions who they are for!

I’ve put my take on the galette in extras.  Just puff pastry with a layer of marzipan in the middle.  Brush with egg yolk.
