Sunrise from my deck at 8 AM looked rather pretty....then I went back to bed. 

At noon I had a look into the backyard and noticed the gauge-wire gate out to the grasslands was somewhat broken and tangled. Could this be how the buck was injured?  Deer prints are all around the backyard. There are several indentations in the snow where he must have curled up. The apples are gone. I hope he's all right. Now it's back to bed again. Not going anywhere today.
