The First High Winds of 2023
Caused a failure to our Electricity Supply today at 7:53 a.m. The high winds damaged the overhead line at Chesterhill which is near another local landmark called Washer Willy’s! This a name which causes laughter to schoolboys of all ages and generations. It is recorded on the OS map.
The electricity company are very good and kept us fully informed of when the supply would be restored. We are both on a list of people to be kept informed because of our age and health problems.
12:38 p.m. is the time recorded by our Ring Alarm System, 22 minutes earlier than predicted.
We had decided to have breakfast out and settled upon Balgove Farm Shop. Our breakfast was excellent and served by very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Shortly after our return the electricity came on and everything sprung back into life.
The high winds have certainly blown the fallen leaves into neat piles and helped to dry the ground out.
And now, the process of catching up begins. Tablets will communicate with phones and computers. Emails have piled up and will be answered.
Today’s Blipfoto shows the midday sun over the Polytunnels across the road. A bright sunny day.
